Location
[BL-62 Extending Vessel SHENMAI - Acupuncture Points] In a depression directly inferior to the highest prominence of the lateral malleolus, above the joint space between the talus and calcaneus.
How to find
First, locate the highest prominence of the lateral malleolus
(➞ 3.6.2). BL-62 is located directly below it, in a depression
inferior to the lower border of the malleolus and superior to the
tendons of the peroneus muscle, in the joint space between the
talus and calcaneus.

Needling
Vertically or obliquely 0.3–0.5 cun. The needle may reach the
calcaneofibular ligaments superior to the tendons of the peroneus
longus and brevis muscles, possibly also the joint space.
Actions/Indications
● Subdues (internal) Wind, clears Heat from the head, calms
the shen, benefits the head and eyes
● Expels external Wind
● Opens and regulates the yang qiao mai
● Opens the channel, alleviates pain
● Moves the Qi in the Bladder sinew channel
